Zach Blue -

 1988 Blue
Roan Stallion AQHA 2740628
Homozygous Black and Homozygous Roan
Zach became a member of our family late in the summer
of 2005. He was a working horse in cattle feed yards
when younger and was used to move, sort, and gather
cattle. Many of his foals were also used at the same
feed yard, as well as rodeo and roping competitions.
He is now 22 yrs young, had a hard life
before I got him and showing his age, but I really like
him. He is Very sweet, and he sure loves all the TLC
he has been getting here.
He is a 100% ROAN Producer. He is Homozygous for
Black and Roan! His foals are always roan, have nice
heads, great feet and legs, and are athletic. Many
have become excellent roping horses. They have speed
and are athletic and cowy.
Zach has BLUE VALENTINE on his papers and also goes
back to Plenty Coup, Ambrose, Jaguar, Hard Twist, Smarty
Cat, Little
Meow, Cowboy, Yellow Jacket x2, Joe Hancock x4 (9.37%), Midnight Jr,
and many other Foundation horses. His pedigree is
further down on this page. He is approx. 98%
Foundation.
This stallion has been tested, and is Confirmed Negative
for the EVA virus. He has also been vaccinated for
EVA and is safe to breed and his semen is safe to ship.

DNA Results are...
Red Factor = EE (Homozygous for Black, no red base
genes, only Black)
Agouti = aa (negative for Agouti)
And we already knew he was Homozygous for ROAN!
What does all this mean?... Well, all his foals will
be Black based, meaning the base color will be either
Black, Black/Bay, Bay, Buckskin, Grullo, or Black pointed Dun,
depending on the mare he is bred to...
And, ALL will be ROANS! When bred to Gray mares, the
foal will start of roan, and may or turn gray with age, or may
stay roan.
I'll fill in more later, and add
AQHA Champions, etc..
